I have only just been introduced to Worldtravelist and am loving what I see so far! I am not sure if there is a way to edit a submission that I have missed – I was adding a link and somehow accidentally hit enter before I was finished. The link to an Australian story accidentally got added to Afganistan. I will try to re-add it to the Australia tab. Not sure if you are able to delete it from Afganistan! I hit return instead of shift on the keyboard! Sorry.
Hmm yeh I thought about having a limit at first but wanted to wait to see whether people shared too much. At the moment it seems ok but perhaps a limit would be a good idea.
Cheryl and Paul,
Would the post limit apply to someone like me who very rarely shares their own posts? I like to add the posts that I find interesting when reading G+, FB and SU shares.
I hold the opinion that WTL is a fantastic resource for anyone contemplating travel to look up the posts on destinations they are interested in.
John and Paul – I like to do a mix of my own and others I find through SM as well.
And very good point, it could be tough to come up with a limit that works …. I just know that I don’t like it when you see 10+ posts from one person’s web site on the front page and the good posts get pushed from being featured so prominently.
I guess they can get pushed down the main trending page… but will probably still be top if you visit the region or countries page.
I did have a look at using continuous scrolling so more entries would appear as you scroll… no sure it’ll work that well though.
One thing that would really help. We have a great community here of regulars and it’s great to see people sharing some awesome content.
It would be really helpful to slowly introduce a few more people to the site… I think the more people contributing the more powerful and useful it’ll become. It would be great if everyone could in some way help introduce people to the site. I think with a handful more users it could evolve even more.
I like to thank you all for contributing. I’ve been exposed to some impressive travel content that I wouldn’t have found before.
I’ve added a Pocket button for anyone who uses the useful bookmarking tool.
All you need to do is to click on “add a comment” or “comments” and on the right hand side you’ll see a pocket button. Click this and it’ll save a copy of the article itself for offline reading! How cool is that!?
Hello all,
I have just signed up – looks a great site.
Of course in adding my first share I chose an article that has 12 different countries … so I just picked one. But perhaps it would be a good idea to have an option that allows for showing a post that is not restricted to one country.
Oh great, thank you! Please change “12 Amazing Ruins of the World: A Visual Memory” from Peru to World. I have seen the World tag now, I only looked at the very beginning and very end – did not think to look for World under W.
We’re always trying to make things better and more engaging on WorldTravelist.com…. but we need your help!
We want all your feedback. What’s good, what’s bad… if something doesn’t work etc
Let us know, we’re all ears!
We’ve fixed a spamming issue that was effecting profile bios… unfortunately you may need to enter yours again.
Also if you want updates to your comments, add your email address on your profile page too.
Have you fixed the duplicate post issue?
Thanks for reminding me John, it’s next on the list!
The ability to edit things you have shared and comments maybe?
Yeh editing would be useful too! Good ideas guys!
Anymore?
Like both the suggestions so far!
How about being able to share some area specific thing like “Europe” for example instead of just countries?

Thanks Cheryl and Anita,
The first couple of improvements will be to stop duplicated versions of articles being submitted and the ability to edit you own submissions.
Great feedback, really helpful!
Oh, I have one more comment. To perhaps somehow limit submissions by one person per day?
It’s not nice to come on and see 20 submissions from one person’s own site …

Good point John… I guess it’s to prevent spamming. Worth considering but not if it impedes people’s experience of sharing.

I see that a few companies are going to create what looks like the same concept.
Thoughts?

Updated so that you shouldn’t be able to add the same article (same URL) twice, gives you the option to vote for it though.
Test it out and let me know what you think.
Also if there are countries and cities that need pages please let us know on this post:

It would also be great to see post by categories; e.g. photo posts, tips, food & drink, tours, travel story etc etc.
Thanks, Elle…
Have you tried the “filter” button? under “trending, popular, incoming” etc?
Perhaps it’d work better as a drop down?
Haha, JUST noticed that and just came back to this post to be all sheepishly apologetic. However, it could be a little more obvious
Ah! so it’s my fault now!
Pretty sure it’s in the About Us section… actually, maybe not!
No, definitely me being unobservant!!
I could probably do with improving to be honest. Also looking to add more cities too:

Hey Thomas,
There is an option to label the article “world”.
Not sure if that helps?
ooops I missed that. That’s exactly what I wanted! #shouldhavegonetospecsavers
No worries! Just let me know which article it was and I’ll update it! Looking to add the option to delete an article in the near future too!

Hi guys,
Had a few logging in issues over the last few days because Twitter have removed support for a few things. This caused an issue logging in.
It should now be all fixed. If you notice any issues, just let me know.
Thanks,
Hello!
We’re currently looking for your feedback for improvements!
What would make the site more engaging?
We’ll be adding a delete option for those of you who screw up submitting your articles! ;D
